Chapter 13
Raquel walked back inside the bakery, and caught Zane's attention. "Right on time," he said aloud to himself as he could see through the window in the back door that Sienna had arrived. He took the initiative to take the box of cupcakes out to her.
Right after Sienna hugged Raquel goodbye, she received a call from the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. She still needed to come by their office as she had some prizes to pick up for her win in the city's Culinary Awards contest. One of which was a $250 gift certificate for one of Nashville's highest rated restaurants, L'Atelier du Jardin. She had heard a customer of her bakery rave about the food and experience last month, and she had relayed to Sienna that they are only open weekends. Knowing costs of rent and ownership up in Nashville, Sienna surmised they must have something special to offer if they could prosper yet keep the doors closed four days per week.
She planned to call Pierre to see if he was available to dine with her at L'Atelier du Jardin the Saturday evening of the weekend after Easter. Sienna was hoping that since that would still be spring break, perhaps a portion of the locals would be out of town on vacation, and they would have a better chance of making reservations. That date and time of course would be if, and only if, this case was closed. And if was the operative word.
In addition, the prize winner of the Columbia Culinary Awards received a feature spot in the Columbia Press, a popular local paper and website. This part of the winnings was already completed as the news of it was already published, and Sienna was thankful for the increased exposure for her bakery.
Yet another gift certificate was hers to claim. It was a $100 gift certificate for Ransom Spirits & Provisions. Sienna had been there once last year with Priscilla. She took her one evening after she got off work to celebrate her engagement. The place reminded Sienna of an upscale but not snooty night club. Similar to one you'd see in a nice section of Manhattan or London. It was part of the general area called the Town Square, but on the outer perimeter. The face of the establishment was the timeless all old red brick as well as black iron works. The interior carried that same theme. It was a long and narrow place, with lots of class, amazing appetizers and creative craft cocktails. A variety of live music was common there, as it was in many such places in an hour's radius of Nashville.
This also sounded like another ideal date location for her and Pierre; especially after two dates to a Little League game. But that was mostly work related, and in fact Sienna needed to head over to the ball field now, as well as spare Pierre a third date in the same spot.
"Here you go Sienna," said Zane as he loaded the box in the back deck area of Sienna's SUV.
